Jan P. Huissoon’s research career is defined by a unique blend of theoretical control design and practical robotic innovation, spanning from advanced manufacturing to assistive technology. His most influential work includes pioneering the “uni-drive modular robot” concept, a novel class of robots that dramatically reduces weight and complexity by using a single base-mounted motor to power all joints.
