US Agent Service
FCC requires every foreign applicant to designate a US Agent for Service of Process. We are that agent — based in San Diego, bilingual, fast-forwarding.
1.What is a US Agent
Per 47 CFR 2.909, foreign FCC applicants must designate a US Agent of Service of Process — a US-resident person or entity that receives FCC correspondence on the applicant's behalf. The agent must have a physical US address (not a PO box).
Specific responsibilities
- Receive all FCC mail and notifications.
- Forward to applicant within 24 hours.
- Be available for FCC inquiries during US business hours.
- Maintain the address on FCC record.
- Notify FCC of any agent change within 30 days.
What happens without one
FCC will reject your application. If you've already been granted, FCC can revoke the FCC ID. Customs may seize shipments arriving without a valid US Agent on record.

Is a US Agent really required?
Yes — 47 CFR 2.909. Without one, FCC will reject your application or revoke an existing FCC ID.
Can I be my own US Agent?
Only if you have a US-resident representative with a physical US address. Most foreign companies don't.
What address do I show on the product?
You can show your own (Chinese) address. The US Agent address is filed on the FCC application, not on the product.
Can I switch agents later?
Yes — file Form 731 update with FCC. We hand off the file to the new agent cleanly.
What if I don't get any FCC mail?
Most certified products receive zero or 1-2 letters per year. The service is mostly insurance — but the alternative (no agent) blocks your FCC ID entirely.
Does this cover UL or FDA?
No — UL and FDA have their own US Agent rules and we partner with specialist agents for those.
When does the year start?
