About
Takashi Sonoda is a robotics researcher whose work spans three major domains: dexterous robotic manipulation, underwater robotics, and agricultural automation. He is perhaps best known for pioneering the "Twist Drive" actuation mechanism, a novel strings-based transmission system designed to enable lightweight, low-cost robotic hands with human-like degrees of freedom.
