About

Qingjun Zeng is a robotics and automation researcher whose work spans underwater robotics, autonomous navigation, teleoperation systems, and human-robot interaction. With expertise bridging marine engineering and intelligent control, Zeng has made meaningful contributions to the design and development of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and amphibious robotic systems capable of operating in challenging environments. His early work on underwater ocean engineering structure inspection and cleaning ROVs (2016) laid a foundation for practical marine applications, while his 2019 research on teleoperation control and human-robot interaction systems advanced the usability and safety of underwater robots. More recently, Zeng has explored soft manipulator-based position control for ROVs, addressing the delicate challenge of grasping fragile marine organisms and underwater relics without causing damage. His 2025 research on an improved Dynamic Window Approach for amphibious robot navigation represents a significant step toward autonomous operation across complex water-land environments. Earlier contributions in robot-assisted percutaneous surgery simulation demonstrate a notably broad technical range. With a growing citation record across multiple domains, Zeng's work continues to push the boundaries of robotic capability in both marine and medical contexts.
