S. Kalaycioglu is a robotics and control systems researcher whose career spans over three decades, with sustained contributions to space robotics, autonomous manipulation, and advanced control theory. Beginning with foundational work in the early 1990s on adaptive hybrid force/position control for Space Station Alpha and ground-based autonomous robot operation, Kalaycioglu established an early specialization in the unique challenges of space-based manipulation.
