About

Dr. Kyung-In Min is a robotics and autonomous systems researcher whose work focuses on the development and control of intelligent vehicles. His most notable contribution is the creation of VIROS, an autonomous vehicle developed at Kookmin University for the 2018 International Autonomous Vehicle Competition, organized by the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. This project demonstrated a practical, ROS-based control system for real-world autonomous driving, integrating perception, planning, and actuation modules. While his highly specialized work in competition-grade autonomy has garnered over 2 citations, it represents a hands-on approach to bridging software frameworks with hardware implementation in competitive environments. Dr. Min’s research is particularly relevant for students and engineers interested in the application of Robot Operating Systems in autonomous driving, as well as the challenges of developing robust control systems for international robotics competitions.
