Fumio Ito is a robotics researcher whose work centers on the design and development of bio-inspired and pneumatically driven robots for navigating and servicing confined, complex pipe and duct environments. His research addresses critical real-world infrastructure challenges, including aging sewer systems, contaminated ventilation ducts, and inaccessible electrical conduits — problems that directly affect public health and safety.
