About
Ge Sun is a rising leader in bio-inspired robotics, with a focus on enabling legged robots to not only traverse but also physically interact with complex, human-centric environments. Her research uniquely bridges the gap between locomotion and manipulation, arguing that legs can serve as dexterous tools for object handling in spaces inaccessible to wheeled or tracked systems. Her most cited work, a 2023 review on legged robots for object manipulation (31 citations), has helped define this emerging subfield.
