About
Victor Andreev is a robotics researcher whose work sits at the intersection of mobile robotics, modular system design, and intelligent control architectures. With a career spanning over a decade of focused inquiry, Andreev has made substantial contributions to the development of heterogeneous modular mobile robots — systems composed of interchangeable functional units capable of operating as coordinated, multi-agent collectives. His most influential work, cited 18 times, introduced a combined approach to designing information-measuring and control systems for mobile robots using network technologies and multi-camera computer vision, integrated within virtual learning laboratory environments. This contribution bridged cutting-edge robotics research with engineering education. Subsequent work explored modular robot architecture, hierarchical multi-agent control topologies, and intermodular communication protocols leveraging ROS-based principles, collectively accumulating dozens of citations across the field. Andreev has also advanced practical navigation capabilities, developing novel artificial vector field methods for smooth trajectory following and applying artificial neural networks to obstacle avoidance — reducing dependence on computationally expensive pre-computation. His network-based design methodology for heterogeneous robotic systems further enables cross-manufacturer interoperability without modifying low-level code. Together, these contributions establish Andreev as a systematic and forward-thinking contributor to intelligent mobile robotics.
