Alberto Ortiz is a robotics researcher whose work spans mobile robot navigation, autonomous inspection systems, and multi-robot coordination. He is perhaps best known for his highly influential 2008 survey on visual navigation for mobile robots, which has accumulated an impressive 689 citations and remains a foundational reference in the field. His research has significantly shaped how autonomous systems perceive and navigate complex environments.
