About

Yulyan Wahyu Hadi is a rising researcher in soft robotics and intelligent control systems, whose work bridges the gap between flexible actuation and autonomous navigation. His primary research areas include pneumatic network (PneuNets) soft robots, anti-windup PID control, and FPGA-accelerated reinforcement learning for mobile robotics. Hadi’s major contributions lie in the design and fabrication of programmable soft actuators, where he systematically evaluated how design parameters and inextensible layer materials affect bending angles—enabling more predictable and controllable soft robot motion. He also developed a complete soft robot system integrating pneumatic networks with feedback and control, demonstrating practical solutions for real-world actuation challenges. In parallel, Hadi advanced mobile robot control by implementing a Q-learning accelerator on FPGA hardware, converting high-level reinforcement learning actions into low-level motor signals for efficient navigation. His most cited work, “Development of Pneumatic Networks Soft Robot with Anti-Windup PID Control” (4 citations), showcases his ability to combine soft robotics with robust control theory. With a growing portfolio of publications from 2022–2023, Hadi is establishing himself as a contributor to both the theoretical foundations and practical implementations of next-generation robotic systems.
