About
Yasuhisa Kamikawa is a robotics researcher whose work bridges the tactile and the dynamic, from the friction of water on human skin to the high-speed locomotion of legged robots. His early, highly cited work (60 citations) on the tactile impression of water on skin reveals a deep interest in human-robot interaction and haptic perception. However, his most transformative contributions lie in the design and control of high-performance legged robots. Kamikawa is the driving force behind the Tachyon series, a family of robots that push the boundaries of payload, robustness, and energy efficiency.
