Naoki Shimojima is a leading figure in the development of haptic-enabled robotic systems for minimally invasive surgery (MIS). His research focuses on creating high-degree-of-freedom (DOF) master/slave robots that restore the sense of touch to surgeons during endoscopic procedures.
