About
Maureen A. Conroy is a leading astronomical instrumentation scientist whose work has been central to the development of massively multiplexed spectroscopy at the MMT Observatory. Her primary research focus is the design, construction, and optimization of fiber-optic spectrographs that enable large-scale surveys of stars and galaxies. Conroy’s most significant contribution is her leadership on the Hectospec project, a 300 optical fiber-fed spectrograph commissioned at the MMT in 2004.
