About

Mark Ordway is a pioneering astronomical instrumentation scientist whose work has been central to advancing wide-field optical spectroscopy. His key research areas include the design and construction of multi-object fiber-fed spectrographs and wide-field corrector optics for large telescopes. Ordway’s most significant contribution is the development of Hectospec, the MMT’s revolutionary 300 optical fiber-fed spectrograph, which has garnered 382 citations.
