About
Hyeongju Choi is a leading figure in macromolecular crystallography, with a primary focus on the development and operation of advanced synchrotron beamlines for structural biology. Her most significant contribution is the design and implementation of the BL-11C Micro-MX beamline at the Pohang Light Source II, a high-flux microfocus facility dedicated to solving the structures of micrometre-sized protein crystals. This work, published in 2021 and garnering 28 citations, has been instrumental in enabling researchers to study challenging biological targets that were previously inaccessible. By making BL-11C available to users since June 2017, Choi has directly facilitated a wide range of structural biology discoveries.
