About

Jin Hong Kim is a structural biologist and synchrotron instrumentation specialist whose research sits at the intersection of beamline technology and macromolecular crystallography. Based at the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory in South Korea, Kim has made significant contributions to the development and optimization of advanced X-ray beamline infrastructure for studying the atomic-level structures of proteins and other biological macromolecules. His most notable work centers on the design and commissioning of BL-11C Micro-MX, a high-flux microfocus beamline at Pohang Light Source II (PLS-II), which became available to the scientific community in June 2017.
