Dorje Angchuk is a key figure in India’s growing prominence in time-domain astrophysics, specializing in the development and automation of robotic telescopes for transient astronomy. As a core team member behind the GROWTH-India Telescope (GIT)—a 70 cm robotic eye with a 0.7-degree field of view—he helped establish India’s first dedicated facility for rapid follow-up of cosmic transients, from supernovae to gravitational wave counterparts.
