About

Dr. V. Bhalerao is a leading figure in time-domain astrophysics, specializing in the study of transient cosmic events such as gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) and near-Earth objects (NEOs). As the principal investigator behind the GROWTH-India Telescope (GIT)—India’s first robotic eye for time-domain astronomy—he has pioneered a 70 cm wide-field facility that rapidly captures fleeting celestial phenomena.
