Ch. Tsitouras is a leading researcher in the field of humanoid and bio-inspired robotics, with a focus on creating machines that move and interact with the world in a human-like manner. His work spans the control of compliant, anthropomimetic robot joints, where he has proposed novel strategies for actuation using agonist-antagonist pairs to mimic human muscle dynamics. Tsitouras has also made significant contributions to brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) for robot control, enabling the translation of EEG signals into commands for pattern generation—a breakthrough with profound implications for assistive technology.
