About
Abdur Rosyid is a leading researcher in the design and control of advanced robotic systems for large-scale manufacturing and construction. His primary research areas include parallel kinematics, hybrid robots, and reconfigurable mechanisms, with a focus on on-structure machining, climbing robotics, and construction 3D printing. Rosyid’s most notable contribution is the development of a novel walking parallel robot for three-axis machining of large structures, which has garnered 12 citations since 2023. He has also made significant strides in external kinematic calibration of hybrid kinematics machines using lower-DOF planar parallel mechanisms, a work cited 11 times. His reconfigurable parallel robot, capable of varying degrees of freedom for adsorption machining, and his multibody dynamics modeling of flexible-link manipulators have each earned 9 citations. More recently, Rosyid has pioneered a suction-based climbing parallel robot for wall painting and a strain-based Cosserat rod model for suspended cable-driven robots in 3D printing. With a total of over 48 citations across his top works, Rosyid’s research is instrumental in pushing the boundaries of robotic automation for large-scale, real-world applications.
