About
Haotian Ju is a rising roboticist whose work is redefining the boundaries of human augmentation through supernumerary robotic limbs (SRLs). His research focuses on designing wearable robotic systems that function as a third arm or leg, working in tandem with the human body to enhance physical capabilities. Ju’s major contributions include the development of the Series-Parallel-Reconfigurable Tendon-Driven Supernumerary Robotic Arm (RTSRA), a novel device that offers unprecedented adaptability through reconfigurable kinematics, and the introduction of motion-compensation control strategies that allow these limbs to operate stably despite unpredictable human-induced disturbances. His work on a leader–follower intention-guided controller further advances human–robot collaboration, enabling intuitive load-carrying assistance. With his most cited paper garnering 24 citations, Ju’s impact is already evident in the growing field of wearable robotics. He has also explored soft robotics with the EA-SoGripper, which uses electroadhesion for adaptive grasping.
