Daehan Wi’s research bridges two critical frontiers in robotics: robust mobile robot localization and the precise control of continuum robots for surgical applications. His early work established a foundational framework for seamless global localization services, addressing the fundamental challenge of maintaining accurate positioning as robots transition between indoor and outdoor environments—a key enabler for truly autonomous service robots.
