About
Mario Prats is a leading roboticist whose work bridges the gap between autonomous manipulation in structured indoor environments and the extreme challenges of underwater intervention. His research spans three core areas: dexterous manipulation, sensor integration, and autonomous underwater robotics. Prats made foundational contributions to task-oriented grasping, introducing the concept of using hand preshapes and task frames to enable robots to autonomously open doors and drawers (50 citations).
