About

Zhaohui Jiang is a robotics and control systems researcher whose career has been defined by pioneering contributions to the modeling, identification, and control of flexible and industrial robot manipulators. Spanning over two decades, Jiang's work addresses some of the most challenging problems in robotic control, including trajectory tracking under parametric uncertainty, impedance control of flexible arms, and dynamic parameter identification. His most-cited work, "Impedance Control of Flexible Robot Arms with Parametric Uncertainties" (2005, 32 citations), and his neural network-based dynamic parameter identification approach (2006, 31 citations) have become notable references in adaptive robotics research. Jiang has been particularly innovative in integrating neural networks with classical control frameworks, demonstrated through multiple studies on trajectory control for industrial manipulators and vision-guided flexible arm systems. His research extends to space robotics, exploring kinematics and dynamics of free-floating flexible space manipulators, and more recently to backstepping-based impedance control methods. With a cumulative body of work attracting over 150 citations, Jiang's research offers foundational methodologies for engineers and researchers tackling the complexities of real-world robotic manipulation and intelligent control system design.
