About

Yun-Su Ha is a robotics researcher whose work spans mobile robot navigation, autonomous control systems, and human-robot interaction. He is perhaps best known for his pioneering research on inverse pendulum type mobile robots — self-balancing, two-wheeled platforms that present significant challenges in stability and motion control. His 1996 paper on trajectory tracking control for this class of robot became a landmark contribution to the field, accumulating 193 citations and establishing foundational control strategies that influenced subsequent generations of mobile robotics research. Ha's work has consistently addressed the challenge of making autonomous robots practical and reliable in real-world environments.
