About
Y. Nakano is a pioneering figure in Japanese robotics, whose career spans foundational work in manipulation, locomotion, and human-friendly robot design. Beginning with the influential "HITACHI'S ROBOT HAND" (1984, 57 citations), Nakano established early expertise in dexterous end-effectors. A major contribution came through the development of a prototype advanced robot for nuclear power plant facilities (1991, 20 citations), addressing critical needs in remote inspection and maintenance within hazardous environments.
