S. Suganuma is a leading figure in humanitarian robotics, whose work has significantly advanced the field of demining through legged locomotion. His primary research focuses on developing quadruped walking robots for hazardous environments, with a particular emphasis on landmine detection and removal. Suganuma’s most impactful contribution is the creation of TITAN-IX, a quadruped walking robot designed for demining missions.
