About
Nicolas Staub is a pioneer in heterogeneous multi-robot manipulation, best known for founding the concept of the Multiple Aerial-Ground Manipulator System (MAGMaS). His research focuses on the co-manipulation of large or flexible objects by teams of aerial and ground robots, addressing critical challenges in construction, industrial decommissioning, and urban search and rescue. Staub’s seminal 2017 paper, “Towards robotic MAGMaS,” introduced the first system of its kind, combining a ground manipulator with aerial robots equipped with simple grippers to collaboratively handle a single object—a breakthrough that has garnered 32 citations.
