About
Jianghua Wu is a leading figure in Antarctic astronomy, renowned for pioneering optical observations from the most extreme and pristine site on Earth: Dome A, Antarctica. His primary research areas include time-domain astronomy, variable stars, and the development of robotic telescopes for polar environments. Wu’s most significant contribution is his leadership in the first release of the CSTAR (Chinese Small Telescope ARray) Point Source Catalog, a landmark 2010 paper with over 40 citations. This work demonstrated the feasibility of high-cadence, wide-field photometry from Dome A, yielding a rich catalog of variable sources despite the harsh conditions.
