Jingyao Hu is an observational astronomer whose work bridges supernova astrophysics and pioneering telescope deployments in extreme environments. Her research focuses on the late-time evolution of supernovae, the calibration of space-based ultraviolet telescopes, and wide-field photometric surveys from Antarctica. In her most-cited work (58 citations), she presented a *Hubble Space Telescope* Snapshot survey of 12 nearby supernovae, combining space-based photometry with previously unpublished ground-based data to study their fading light curves. Hu contributed to the first release of the CSTAR Point Source Catalog from Dome A, Antarctica (40 citations), a project that demonstrated the viability of robotic optical astronomy at the highest point on the Antarctic plateau. She also led the photometric calibration of the Lunar-based Ultraviolet Telescope (LUT) during its first six months on the lunar surface (15 citations), making LUT the first robotic astronomical telescope to operate from the Moon.
