About

Zhaohui Shang is a prominent astronomer whose research centers on Antarctic observational astronomy, robotic telescope systems, and time-domain sky surveys. Working primarily with instrumentation deployed at Dome A — the highest point on the Antarctic plateau and one of Earth's premier astronomical sites — Shang has played a pivotal role in advancing China's presence in polar astronomy. Shang's most influential contribution is the first release of the CSTAR point source catalog (40 citations), establishing a foundational dataset from the Chinese Small Telescope ARray deployed during the 2008 Chinese Antarctic expedition.
