Huigen Yang is a pioneering figure in Antarctic astronomy, specializing in the development and deployment of robotic observatories for optical and near-infrared observations from the Earth’s most extreme environment. His major contributions center on establishing Dome A, the highest point on the Antarctic plateau, as a premier site for astronomy.
