About
Guangliang Fu is a prominent remote sensing scientist whose research sits at the intersection of atmospheric aerosol characterization, polarimetric retrieval algorithms, and satellite Earth observation. Working closely with SRON – the Netherlands Institute for Space Research, Fu has made substantial contributions to developing and refining algorithms that extract aerosol properties from multiangle polarimetric measurements — instruments capable of capturing both the intensity and polarization of sunlight scattered by atmospheric particles. Fu's most impactful work emerged from the NASA-SRON ACEPOL campaign, with his 2020 paper on cross-polarimeter aerosol retrievals accumulating 82 citations and establishing benchmark methodologies used across the field.
