Armin Sulzmann is a robotics and microsystems researcher whose career has centered on the intersection of microrobotics, computer vision, and precision manipulation. Working primarily from the mid-1990s through the 2000s, Sulzmann made foundational contributions to the development of high-accuracy vision feedback systems that enable microrobots to perform complex assembly tasks at submicron scales — a critical challenge as microsystems grew increasingly miniaturized. His most influential work introduced the Microvision System (MVS), a real-time 3D computer graphics-based framework that allowed operators to telemanipulate microrobots with exceptional positional accuracy, effectively bridging virtual reality interfaces with physical microscale environments.
