Jay Sim is pioneering the mechanics and design of magnetically responsive materials for next-generation medical robotics. His key research areas span hard-magnetic soft materials, electromagnetic actuation, and endovascular surgical devices. Sim’s most influential work, the 2023 review “Mechanics of hard-magnetic soft materials,” has already garnered 71 citations, establishing him as a leading voice in this emerging field.
