About
Hui Wei is a structural biology researcher whose work has significantly advanced the field of cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), with particular focus on specimen preparation methodologies and instrumentation development. Wei's most impactful contribution addresses one of cryo-EM's persistent challenges: the adsorption of protein particles to air-water interfaces during vitrification, which causes preferred particle orientations and compromises structural analysis.
