Florent Di Meglio is a leading researcher in legged robotics, with a focus on state estimation, flexible dynamics, and rehabilitation exoskeletons. His work addresses the critical challenge of accurately estimating a robot’s state when its structure undergoes multiple deformations—a common issue in real-world walking machines. Di Meglio pioneered velocity-aided IMU attitude estimators, such as the MOVIE framework, which enables robust observation and control of deformations during dynamic locomotion. His kinematic approach to state estimation for legged robots with internal flexibilities has been widely recognized, with his most cited paper accumulating 20 citations.
