Zefeng Liu is pioneering the next generation of continuum robots for minimally invasive surgery, with a focus on maxillary sinus procedures and prostate surgery. His core research integrates soft robotics, sensor feedback, and closed-loop control to overcome the limitations of rigid surgical instruments in navigating curved, narrow anatomical pathways.
