About
Wu Weiguo is a pioneering roboticist whose work bridges the gap between expressive humanoid design and practical mobile robot control. His research spans two compelling domains: the development of lifelike humanoid head robots capable of recognizing and reproducing facial expressions, and the control of mobile robots for precise path tracking. In the early 2000s, Wu introduced a backstepping design for mobile robot path tracking (30 citations), offering a globally stable solution that overcame the limitations of local linearization methods—a foundational contribution to autonomous navigation. Simultaneously, he led the creation of the “H&Frobot” series, including the humanoid head portrait robot with a flexible face and expression capabilities (23 citations).
