Linfeng Chen is pioneering the intersection of stimuli-responsive materials and bioinspired actuation, with a focus on creating intelligent systems that can sense, analyze, and respond to their environment. His most influential work, "The Pathway to Intelligence" (2019, 270 citations), establishes a foundational framework for using stimuli-responsive materials as building blocks for smart, functional systems—drawing direct inspiration from biological intelligence in humans, animals, and cells.
