Kenzo Akita is a pioneering figure in space robotics and intelligent manufacturing, whose work has advanced the frontiers of telerobotic manipulation and automated welding. His most influential contribution is the development and orbital demonstration of the Advanced Robotic Hand (ARH) system aboard Japan’s Engineering Test Satellite VII (ETS-VII).
