About
Kazuhiro Hongo is a pioneering neurosurgeon whose career has been defined by the development and clinical application of robotic and telemanipulation technologies in neurosurgery. Working at the intersection of engineering and medicine, Hongo has been instrumental in bringing two landmark systems to the operating room: the NeuRobot and the iArmS. The NeuRobot, a master-slave microscopic micromanipulator featuring a three-dimensional endoscope and three robotic arms, represents one of the earliest clinically applied robotic platforms in neurosurgery, with foundational papers from 2002 to 2005 accumulating over 140 citations collectively.
