About
Dong Hyun Ahn is a leading researcher at the intersection of assistive robotics and neurodevelopmental disorder screening. His work spans two critical domains: rehabilitation exoskeletons and AI-driven diagnostic tools for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Ahn’s most influential contribution is the design of a modular knee exoskeleton for hemiplegic patients, which uses foot pressure and knee torque sensors to mimic natural polycentric knee motion—a study that has garnered 95 citations. More recently, he has pioneered the use of socially assistive robots and deep learning to objectively screen for ADHD in children.
