About

Dijie Yao is pioneering the next generation of wearable bioelectronics, with a research focus on hydrogel-based electronic skins (e-skins) and flexible sensors for human-machine interaction. Their major contributions lie in engineering soft, breathable, and stretchable materials that overcome critical limitations of conventional sensors, such as signal interference and poor environmental stability. Yao’s most impactful work, a 2024 study on a self-calibrated multimodal e-skin integrating hydrogel microstructures, has garnered 140 citations for its breakthrough in enabling wireless, multi-sensing wearables without mutual signal interference. They further advanced the field with an ultrasensitive, fast-response temperature microsensor using an encapsulated organohydrogel film, achieving high sensitivity and stability for long-term wearable applications.
