About

Dawoon Jung is a leading researcher in the field of robotic manipulation, whose work bridges the gap between human-like dexterity and practical industrial automation. His primary research areas include dexterous robotic hand design, dynamic parameter identification, and physical human-robot interaction (pHRI). Jung’s most impactful contribution is the development of an integrated linkage-driven dexterous anthropomorphic robotic hand (2021, 200 citations), which achieves human-level grasping force and flexibility without the need for additional actuation parts—a significant step toward more practical and capable robotic hands. He further advanced industrial applications with the INDEX Gripper (2024), a dexterous gripper capable of all-orientational object manipulation.
