About

Bangxiang Chen is a robotics and biomedical engineering researcher whose work sits at the compelling intersection of biomimetics, food science, and soft robotics. Best known for pioneering the development of masticatory robots, Chen has dedicated much of his career to creating sophisticated mechanical systems that replicate human chewing to enable objective, reproducible in vitro food texture analysis — a field with significant implications for food product development, pharmaceutical testing of chewable drugs, and understanding human oral processing.
