Andrew Bacha is a pioneering roboticist best known for his central role in the DARPA Urban Challenge, one of the most transformative events in autonomous vehicle history. As a key member of Team VictorTango, Bacha co-authored the seminal paper "Odin: Team VictorTango's entry in the DARPA Urban Challenge" (2008), which has garnered over 253 citations. This work detailed the team's holistic approach to solving the challenge of navigating a robotic vehicle through 90 km of complex urban traffic—including intersections, merges, and parking—without human intervention.
