About
Min Sang is an emerging materials scientist and engineer whose research centers on soft robotics, smart actuators, and stimuli-responsive materials. His work focuses on designing and developing advanced soft actuators that respond to multiple external triggers — including heat, electromagnetic fields, and light — with particular emphasis on real-world applications in wearable electronics, biomimetic robotics, and flexible devices. Sang's most influential contribution, a flexible PTFE/MXene/PI electrothermal actuator with electromagnetic-interference shielding (2021, 117 citations), demonstrated a powerful integration of functional materials that simultaneously addressed actuation and shielding demands. This was followed by pioneering work on dual-mode biomimetic actuators combining electrothermal and magneto-responsive behavior (2022, 66 citations), pushing the boundaries of multifunctional soft robotics. His 2023 paper on triple-responsive actuators with power-free shape retention (43 citations) tackled a critical limitation in the field — the inability to maintain deformation without continuous energy input — offering programmable shape recovery through innovative self-assembly strategies. With a growing body of work exploring liquid metal-elastomer composites and thermotropic shape-memory systems, Sang's cumulative impact of over 240 citations reflects his rising influence in next-generation intelligent soft materials and responsive robotic systems.
