About
Liam Pedersen is a pioneering roboticist whose work has fundamentally advanced autonomous exploration in extreme environments, from Antarctica to the Moon. His research centers on field robotics, planetary science, and human-robot collaboration, with a focus on developing intelligent systems capable of scientific discovery without direct human oversight. Pedersen’s most influential contribution is the robotic search for Antarctic meteorites—a project that demonstrated how autonomous rovers could identify and collect scientifically invaluable extraterrestrial specimens in one of Earth’s harshest landscapes.
